Surah al-Falaq is the 113th Surah of the Quran. This Surah consists of five Ayahs.
Surah al-Falaq got its name from the first Ayah, in which Allah SWT commands His Prophet (PBUH) to seek protection in Him, the Lord of the Dawn.
This is one of the last two Surahs of the Koran, which are united by the common name “al-Mu’awwidhatayn” — “the two Surahs of Refuge”.
Surah al-Falaq: Seeking Protection from Evil
The main theme of Surah al-Falaq is asking Allah to protect us. In this Surah, we ask Allah to protect us from the evil of all His Creations, which include Iblis and Hellfire. It also contains a request for protection from specific creatures, such as the darkness of night. Most importantly, this Surah is used to ask Allah for protection from any envious person and his envy.

- Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak
- From the evil of that which He created;
- From the evil of the darkness when it is intense,
- And from the evil of malignant witchcraft,
- And from the evil of the envier when he envieth.
