Details About Usage Rights
All images on this website are available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) License. Basically, this allows you to:
- Share, copy and redistribute the Quranic Quotes images,
- Improvise and build new images (non-commercial) as derivatives of the existing images.
That said, you are not allowed to:
- Use any of the Quranic Quotes images in commercial works,
- Change the license of any derivative works to something other than CC BY-NC-SA 4.0
In addition, you must give appropriate credit to Quranic Quotes as the source of the images.
Read more about the license here. Alternatively, shoot me a word if you have any questions.
Also, please note: Some images on this site may be based on others’ images that come with licenses of their own. In that case, please be very sure to check with the original copyright holders and/or persons concerned. In such cases, you can find the link to the original image owners’ websites/profiles on the concerned Quranic Quote’s page. Such owners/photographers/artists gave their consent to Quranic Quotes, but if you wish to reuse the said images elsewhere, you should check with them before-hand.
Why CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 For Quranic Quotes?
I am perfectly cool with people sharing or re-sharing these images — the more people get to know about The Quran, the better. If you wish to modify or create something new on the basis of these images, that is cool too! However, using verses of The Quran in a commercial venture is not cool, so the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license is there just to avoid that.
In a nutshell: Share, distribute, improvise, do whatever you feel like. Just no commercial works, and, please consider mentioning this website as the source of the images. 🙂
